This visualization displays real-time weather data from locations of recent armed conflicts worldwide.
The cloth movements are driven by current wind speed and direction data from each region. Each location shows temperature,
humidity, wind conditions, atmospheric pressure, cloud cover, solar radiation, and UV index alongside
conflict event information including event type, date, and casualty data.
Click on any cloth to view maps and Street View of the location, though Street View may not be available in conflict zones.
Data sources: ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project) - openly published weekly aggregates via HDX, ~1 week lag;
UCDP Candidate Events Dataset (Uppsala University) - city-level locations where ACLED public data is country-level only, ~1 month lag;
Open-Meteo - weather, updated hourly; Google Maps - maps and Street View; BigDataCloud - reverse geocoding
